Basic cases:
The plaintiff, chen yao and the defendant, li yao, were neighbours of the village, and the third was the user of the adjacent plot. In 2014, chen's husband built a simple house within the disputed boundaries of li's and wang's home base, which overlapped with the right to use the permit, which was used in turn as a firehouse, a chicken house and a daily tool house. In 2015, the village council intervened to find that the title to the plot was unclear, that the area was clearly undefined and that construction should not be built, and that chen had been ordered to dismantle himself within the deadline, but chen had not done so as scheduled. During more than 10 years, there have been numerous contradictions between chen and li's home base border demarcation and daily routines。
On 21 june 2025, during chen's absence from the home, li, a privately employed worker, entered the premises and demolished the house in question. The incident was followed by a dispute between the families. After several negotiations between chen and li for compensation had been unsuccessful, he appealed to the people's court for a total of $7,000 in compensation for the loss of property, transportation costs, labour costs and moral damages。

In the face of disputes over the boundaries of the home base, the defendant has failed to resolve the conflict through legal means such as administrative certainty, civil proceedings, and has taken advantage of the plaintiff's private employment to remove other persons ' belongings, which is outside the scope of legal defence, and constitutes a violation of rights and is liable accordingly. Based on the number of construction materials, such as cement bricks, simple doors and windows, based on site surveys, and taking into account local market prices, a combination of the levels of fault of the parties was found to be $1,200, as appropriate, for the substantive resolution of the neighbourhood dispute. The claimant's claim for high property losses was not supported by sufficient evidence, and moral damages were not supported by any factual or legal basis。
