Since april 2025, the bureau has focused on the upgrading of industry services, capturing key links, innovative work initiatives, market role, strengthening of industry regulation, and cruise taxi “light stars”. A taxi is rated as an asterisk (“one star” to five “five stars”) based on a credit rating for the quality of the taxi driver's service. Through the light star, passengers are given a more accurate and intuitive view of the quality of the driver's services, encouraging the driver to serve in good faith, to serve in a civilized manner, to serve in good quality and to enhance the overall level of service in the industry. In a presentation made by the relevant head of the ishikoshi city transport and communications department, the star-level evaluation of cruise taxi drivers was based on the “basic indicators plus subdivisions” model, which covered such multidimensional indicators as safe driving, quality of service, vehicle cleaning and citizen assessment. At present, the city has assessed 382 cruise taxi drivers above the tristar level。
