On 17 july, the municipality of yunnan ligang recently announced the regulations governing the collection of maintenance fees for li gangu city, which will be charged for the maintenance of the city at a rate of $50 per person, effective 1 august 2025, to be paid by order of the old city protection authority and extended for a period of 365 days。
The administration of maintenance fees for li ganggou city, li gangang city, published by the network of municipal officials, states that maintenance fees for li ganggou city are administrative fees charged to persons travelling to li ganggou city and carrying out other activities, in accordance with the regulations for the protection of li ganggou city, yunnan province, and approved by the yunnan people's government for development and reform and finance, specifically for the protection of li ganggou city, world cultural heritage。
The collection covers the three areas of the great skugu city (including the black dragon hills), the peshawar complex and the benelux complex, which are listed in the world heritage list。
The rate is $50 per person for a single contribution, valid for 365 days; during the period in which the contribution is valid, the contributor may enter li gangou city for an unlimited number of times. The scheme has been in operation since 1 august 2025. The regulation on the collection of maintenance fees in ligang city, ligang city (people's government proclamation no. 8 of ligang city), which was in force since 1 july 2007, was also abolished。
On 17 july, in response to the media response by staff of the li gangu city protection authority, the collection of maintenance fees for the city of li gangu city, which requires significant funding for the maintenance of public facilities, was established in 2007 and is not collected until now。
According to the staff member, as of 1 august this year, a screening site will be set up in the area to travel to li ganggou city, which will have to pay $50/person for maintenance, to be collected by the travel agency. A tourist practitioner in liang also told the news that, for the diaspora, there was no compulsory inspection of maintenance fees in the old city, but that entry into the black dragon land was still subject to payment. He also mentioned that maintenance costs in the city had been reduced from $80 to $50 per person since 2019。
At the same time, the regulation of maintenance fees for lianggou city, lijiang city, specifies eight categories of personnel who are exempt from maintenance fees, including local residents and temporary residents of lijiang, licensed tour guides and tour drivers, children under 12 years of age or up to 1. 2 metres of height, older persons over 60 years of age, persons with disabilities, national labour models, state-of-the-art workers and active military personnel。
According to yunnan network, in recent years, lijiang city's ancient city district has developed a new “tourism +” business, with innovations that foster the “having with music” “hide with music” and “travel with the games” and “live with sunshine” of five ancient chinese brigades. Between january and september 2024, the ancient city received 39,169,000 visitors in the country, an increase of 11. 59 per cent over the same period, at a total cost of $7,9464 million。
In 2024, the department of civil affairs of lijiang city received 8,0643,000 visitors from the tourist industry throughout the year; the total cost of tourism in the city was $138,523 million。
