1 the net increase in the bdi architecture during the year is as follows:
Bdi went up to 18. 52 per cent, bci to 33. 95 per cent, bpi to 24. 63 per cent and bsi to 8. 21 per cent; in the same period last year: -1. 81 per cent, -12. 85 per cent, -12. 13 per cent and -10. 96 per cent. After more than three months of catching up, with the exception of the slightly lower bsi, the annual net increase has so far significantly exceeded that of the same period last year, signalling market performance or improvement this year。
2. This week the market has followed up at a slow pace. The bdi closing value of 1560 points is exactly the same as last week (12/16) last year; in 15 trading days, the bci closing value was the third breakthrough of 2000 this year; and as south america’s soybeans and maize are in the harvest season, exports are strong and have given a strong boost to the demand for dry bulk transport, bpi has reached a new high since 28 october last year. Although the bsi has been going down since late march, this has not affected the overall trend。
3 in comparison with the weekly increase in the average daily earnings from shipping prices and the index of prices, the seagulls represented 20. 94 per cent against 20. 95 per cent, a gap of 0. 01 per cent, or 0. 02 per cent, compared with the previous week; and panama, 12. 64 per cent against 12. 64 per cent, or 0, or 0. 02 per cent, compared with the previous week. With large and medium ships driving in parallel, small boats continue to decline, creating checks and balances and stabilizing overall。
