I. Entering a travel agency unexpectedly:
When i went to high school in 1992 at chongqing's home, i used to go swimming with my classmates to the yangtze mouth in the da ning river, and then i saw a lot of foreigners riding in speedboats and driving in the three canyons, and they waved at us, knowing they were coming to see the three canyonsTourism“it is also the first time that “tourists” have been seen。
When the country got married, some people started not having a wedding and took a long-distance bus to the county for two days, called “travel marriage”, remembering that my uncle's marriage was arranged as such, and it was very new at the time. But i never thought i'd travel until i graduated。
I studied computerization of accounting, graduated in 1998, and gave up the opportunity to “wait for distribution” in my home country; in the summer of 1999, a relative from home in beijing, who knew a beijingian, opened a travel agency and promised to hire me to be a tour guide around beijing. That's it. I've been in the tourism business since。
Shortly after entering the travel agency, i discovered that the threshold for opening a travel agency was very low, and that although private registered travel agencies were not allowed at that time, you could have done it by renting an office, with a telephone, a fax, a computer, another helper and a newspaper ad, at a cost of $20,000 per year, hanging under another travel agency。
So i quickly came up with the idea of doing it for myself, but then there was no money; just in the first six months of my tour around beijing, i met a friend from beijing who was willing to pay for it and i came to help him take care of it; work started officially in april 2000, and i invited a former colleague。
I'm in charge of the development of lines, the design of advertisements, telephone calls, door-to-door contracting, and colleagues help with phone calls, consultations and receptions; when the tours are formed, we're going out with guests, and when the guides are not enough, we're going to have to deal with clients' complaints; and this is equivalent to fully operating a travel agency。
By the end of 2001, a travel agency had been attached to a partnership with friends and had officially started working on its own。
Ii. Finding yourself really played:
I go out every weekend to bring in the great wall of yellow flowers in beijing, the most i've ever seen. The first few summers, almost every week. The telephones of the two regular restaurant owners were known to me until today; the staff in the scenery, the people in the front door, became friends。
But i don't think it's boring to go to the same place repeatedly, every time, the weather is different, the view is different, especially when the guests are completely different, and there's a feeling of “frequent change”. But many other guides i know don't, and they don't think it's funny to go anywhere。
Last winter, my brother and his family came to beijing and i took them to the great wall of yellow flower city; our unit organized its own activities, and several times it was here。
There is a black dragon hole inside the great wall of yellow flower city, which requires about three kilometres from the beach. Other guides do not want to bring guests in, but i always insist on leading them to the black dragon stand to see the narrow canyon door, the clear water puddle and the big stones on the way. I always felt that if i didn't go in, the water wall would be less spiritual; it would be a little itchy if i didn't have guests to go in。
Then i found out that, almost every area of view, i would consciously guide the guests further away and see more; it was for the guests, but it was for my curiosity。
It was recalled that one winter, a group of guests went to the wyebei international ski resort to ski. I've been skiing myself, and i just learned to go to high school and have a little bit of fun. Until the radio started calling out my name and rushing me to meet me in the snowware hall, the guests had waited for me there earlier, and i realized i should have gone back earlier。
At that time, the guests were taken to the prairie of the fanning dam in hebei, or to the mount of beijing, where there were riding projects. Every time i try to get you involved, there are some who are afraid to try. Often, i ride alone, fly on the grass, and sometimes bring some people in。
One summer, i took more than 20 of my guests to go out to the gatehouse reservoir, where i also had a secondary school student. He asked me if i could swim, and i said yes. And when you hear it, you say, "you dare to be so deep?" i say. They told me to go down and i swam in the middle of the reservoir。
Twenty years ago, when i took a regiment to mount siva, and took a cable car, the local tour guides told you about the tour route, and then everyone was free to move. Some chose to walk near the cable car and others decided to climb west peak. I myself climbed several of the major peaks. When i came down, some guests didn't come back. "your strength is good."。
Our colleagues went out to build the company, and i brought them up to the hill, and i went over the plan every time, and on one occasion we went up and down the entrance to the great wall of yellow flowers, along the broken wall, up and down several hills, up to the highest hill east of the reservoir of yellow flowers, and down the wall to the edge of the scene. We've exhausted several colleagues。
I began to believe that i really liked “playing” and not generally; that what people used to say was “greater” and curious enough; that was confirmed by every colleague around me。
Iii. A sense of achievement in product innovation
After 2000, the tourism industry entered a phase of rapid development, with tourists relying heavily on travel agents; the season is tight, and hotels and airline tickets are not as full as they are today. As soon as the tour route is slightly different and attractive, the call will ring as soon as the advertisement is posted and a group will be formed. There was also a lot of group trips around beijing, with at least five or six groups per week, more than ten tours, and when the tour guides were insufficient, only trusted friends could help。
We're also starting to collect some loose ends. However, it quickly became clear that the number of people consulted in the mass media and the number of prices cut were low, since travel agents sold almost the same lines and the satisfaction of the guests returning was low。
So, the lines to the field, we started designing ourselves, forming ourselves. It will be recalled that the early launch of the east china swine was based on the market's one-size-fits-all “east china five” (nanjing, nosei, suzhou, hangzhou, shanghai), where we added yangzhou and jinjiang, along the way to hangzhou, to the east, adding shao xing, ningbo, and then to putu hill. As soon as the ad was called, the phone was blown up, and for several years, spring and autumn, the line was very hot。
We have launched many original lines, insisting on self-construction and incompetence. When tourism information was much less developed than it is now, we went to the library to find some tourist information, map-related books, and china's national geography, national humanities, and fashion tourism were bought almost regularly; and the lone planet series, the main destination countries, were also bought。
Product innovation is always ahead of industry, with new lines increasing, and almost every province having a full-line and deep-swap tour by 2004; my sense of direction is strong and my design lines are becoming increasingly responsive, and i am particularly excited by the fact that new ideas and products have landed. A large number of lines are highly recognized by tourists. I'm getting confidence in product innovation and i've found a lot of fun。
Four, make up your mind
The love, confidence, pleasure and strength of tourism are more than ordinary people; it is also often said that it would be better to look at a thing that you really like as a job. I'm beginning to realize that maybe i'm good for tourism. As a result, a tourism consulting firm was officially registered in 2004 and transformed into a travel agency in 2006。
Later, a series of leisure, photography, residence, rest and well-being have been introduced; since 2009, it has begun to travel abroad, and it is self-research and development. I have also been given the opportunity to visit abroad, free of charge, and soon i have travelled to south-east asia, russia, western europe, egypt, northern europe, the united states, etc.; this is something that no other industry can imagine。
In march 2016, on the day i reached the age of 40, i thought seriously, would i want to do something else later? But for me, what is more appropriate than travel agencies? The answer is no; being able to travel is already my big blessing。
Can the travel agency feed people? Is it worth a lifetime? I've had 26 years to submit a non-successful, but true, response. We'll do it again next time。
