On 7 march, early morning mornings were cold. In the vegetable shed of hyoyon village, in the pointy grass, a thin figure. On the side of the seedlings of tomatoes covered with open water, the finger is lightened on the screen of the mobile phone, comparing a set of newly generated temperature data。
Wang tsing rue, a taiwon girl born in 1999, was called by the village's people “the child who learned finance to grow back”. In 2021, she graduated from finance at hainan university, did not enter the skyscrapers in the city like her classmates, but returned to her home village with determination. At the time, the village was building a public-friendly vegetable base, and she started thinking about going home to start a business, and her parents couldn't understand: "you went back to college to dig mud?"
Today, the former “outsiders” not only managed their own sheds, but also became “field housekeepers” for their families. To be rich is not “technology and hard work”, but a new technology called “precision agriculture” that fills in data from excel forms, dynamic information from mobile phones。
It's a wind sign
In the early stages of entrepreneurship, wang zhiu's biggest puzzle was: what is it? When? She found that most of the farmers around her were “feel pies” — people grow whatever they want, and the price is low。
Wang zhou, of financial origin, thought of data analysis. There is a nearby fruit and vegetable trading centre, where the public sign issues real-time vegetable prices for vegetables and fruits every day. From 2022, she began to direct all possible or associated vegetable varieties, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, guacamole and curry, to the excel forms. "the public sign is a picture, and there's no way to copy it directly, and i'll knock it out one number at a time."。
Why do this stupid thing? The local vegetable shed was marketed in may and june, but no one can tell. The price of vegetables is highly volatile because of weather, transport, supply, etc.: “the data directly compared to a given day are meaningless and can only be of reference value if sufficient data are collected to compare average prices.” later, data on more than one market were collected, and she found that, unlike the prices of vegetables in taiwon city, in the north and south, “to the south, the area under cultivation is large and the overall price of vegetables is low, but in the north the price of local vegetables is one or two cents higher than in large areas”. In addition to online collection, she has often entered the market and chatted with vendors to learn about recent developments in the price of vegetables。
Based on data analysis and market research, and combined with the electrician marketing dynamics, she was able to identify the distinctive little tomatoes — the large market gap, the high premium and the durable storage. In 2024, she set up a ru-garde garden in the tipping lawn area of taiwon city, adapted the planting structure, tested quality tomatoes and opened up the collection and order channels. This decision resulted in an acre in the family shed yielding three times as much as the general goods. Taste the sweet head of the "data field," "i grew what i used to grow in the neighborhood, and now i grow to see the data." wang zing laughed and said。
The microscope in the shed
If market data are telescopes, field data are microscopes. A sudden illness almost knocked down the confidence of wang sin-ju. Looking at the vast area of sick tomatoes, she is helpless and awakened that financial thinking alone is not enough and must be technically owned。
Wang zhiu opened a “students' model” and paid for it to visit dado, to find experts and to ask questions. At an agricultural demonstration park, the technician gave her a lesson: “how many fruits and how much space to leave, or even how much time to use the fruit to determine the longness of the fruit, to record the data throughout and to measure the output.” at that moment, she was like a plumb。
Since then, she has become a "data maniac" in the shed. Turning over her planting records, remembering:
10 february: seeding。
Before the first bushes: how many degrees centigrade flowers do temperature control make it good? Record。
Pumping nutrients: matching a hit with an untried one, see the effect。
Daily temperature, quantity of water every few days: time and point records ..
“the market is rich in agricultural assets, but the data in the mouth of the seller are not necessarily reliable. If it's a product that farmers approve and measure, then move in, and if you can't be sure of it, you have to make a comparison in the front. Cultivation experiences are not built up in a year or two, but the changes brought about by “precision” are real. “the true story of the land is to be found in the mud. Why don't you bend over and write down one of those technical posts online。
"sharing circle" in the twitter community
As the saying goes, “one single is not spring”. Today, “sharing the sharing of cultivation” is one of the most active micromessages in wang zhou's mobile phone, where she arranges the latest prices collected from wholesale markets and retail outlets and pushes them into the group. “what is the price of tomatoes today?” “the number of cucumbers is low?” the village's greatest concern is “the daily news”。
She's the one who's making it harder for the folks. No, she recently shared a “growing trick” in the group. Previously, in order to protect against weeds, the growers chose to lay plastic membranes in the sheds, and a sapling was expensive, labour-intensive and unfriendly. She drinks in the group: "put a liquid membrane, a small canteen on the ground, no weeds, strong seedlings, clean, labour-saving, and half-cost, effective."
This “dry goods” sharing is not an isolated case, but a normal practice. What is the real cost of a crop? What's the profit? Which part saves money? She's all for everybody. Prior to this, there was a new outbreak that spreads between crops, with four acres of tomatoes being planted in one farm family, as there was no special medicine to remove them all. “it is so painful for farmers to live on harvests and say no.” she decided that she could grow it on her own. She had to share the technology to help more people prevent disease, increase production and increase income。
In 2025, wang tsing zhou established the main agricultural technology service of hmong state, which has expanded its operations to market agricultural resources and technical services, and has moved from mere farming to integrated agricultural services. The young girl became a “big expert” and a new regular visitor from the village arrived in the shed, setting up a class, fertilizer, babysitting, disease prevention and regular “visiting”. A few days ago, a farmer found large leaves of tomatoes in the shed turning yellow and in a hurry to turn around. The field housekeeper heard it, looked at it for less than 10 minutes, went straight up and pointed at the blade, and said, "it's not a problem, it's a problem, it's a matter of spraying nutrients, water control, ventilation."
Turning to the future, wang zhou has made it clear that the main agricultural technical service in hmong has been set up as a “rural bridge” linking technology and farmers, and that it is through professional services that quality fruit and vegetable products are channelled and integrated around them, and that it is possible to push electricity to a wider market。
“data takes root in the soil and grows gold.” financially sown fields, with dirt on their feet, staring at the stars, sowing hope and youth in vegetable sheds。
