After the expiration of its free television licence, audience no longer qualified to hold a fixed transmitter licence to operate a telecommunications network to provide its licensed free television service. In addition, audience failed to pay the 2015/2016 annual license fee for the fixed carrier licence. As a result, the communications bureau had earlier taken a preliminary decision to remove the fixed transmitter licence plates from audience effective 30 june 2016. In may 2016, the temporary audience clearer requested the communications agency to cancel its fixed transmitter licence plates until 1 september, on the grounds that the audience launch station in 40 locations possessed a large amount of launch equipment that required court authorization to be sold.
