I would like to take this opportunity to take stock of some of the problems that have been identified in these "press reviews" exercises, and i hope they will help you to rise steadily
Title issues
From the heading, the title of the press review is best followed by a value judgement (good or bad) based on a factual (right or wrong) judgement. In nearly three reviews, i found that some of the problems with the title section included: (1) vagueness of views and lack of clarity of attitude; (2) over-exploring the meaning of the title by seeking to “modernize it”; and (3) excessive number of titles, reading more like a sentence than a title。
2. First paragraph issues
The starting point of the review session would typically consist of a summary of the material facts and the arguments arising therefrom, preferably a paragraph (not exceeding paragraph 2). In almost three reviews, i found that some of my classmates had only an overview of the facts and lacked arguments. Whether the subject requires a mid-term comment, a short comment or a micro-comment, i would suggest that it would be better for you to make your point after summarizing the facts of the material。
3. The point of view
From the point of view of the subject, students must read the material carefully and develop it around it. At present, a small number of classmates are deviating from the material from the point of view, which leads to an entire commentary. For example, during the third western treaty exercise, you were asked to write a comment on the “china network positive energy - jiangshan forum”, the simplest and direct point of view being “the meaning of the network positive energy forum”. In addition, it is reasonable for some of our fellow students to argue in terms of “the meaning of the power of the network for social development”. However, a small number of students have based their arguments on “promoting the traditional culture of excellence in china” and “promoting international dissemination”, which are not the main content, although they are covered in the material. It was to be hoped that the subject matter of the discussion would be taken into account and that the subject matter would be the subject of discussion。
4. Discussion of logic
In the course of the discussion, a qualified press comment should be logically consistent between several paragraphs of the argument, and the argument should support it in its entirety. In recent exercises, i have found some of my fellow students to have problems with the lack of logic of argument, as shown by the fact that: (1) arguments are not closely related to arguments, or they are not sufficiently thorough to support arguments. For example, in the second exercise, you were asked to write a press comment on hangzhou's implementation of the express coco code. Some of the students argued that “coach is a win-win initiative”, but the whole of the discussion was based on the “benefits of pedigree to rider” and did not involve other subjects and did not reflect the “winner-winner” of the argument. (2) there is a clear logical problem with the specific reasoning. For example, in the first exercise, you were asked to write a news review on “library roll-out home delivery services”. In the main sentence of the paragraph, where there is an argument, there is a reference to “the ease and accessibility of book lending through home-to-door service”, but in the subsequent clarification another dimension is addressed, with no explanation as to why, and how, the ease, accessibility, etc. Are promoted。
Comments on word count issues
In the course of these exercises, i found that a small number of my fellow students had apparent discrepancies between the number of comments and the subject matter requirements. For example, while the title requires 300 words of commentary, some classmates have written about 600 words of comments containing three arguments. In official examinations, the number of comments written by students may be deducted if they differ too much (including too many or too few), so attention is drawn to the subject and written strictly according to the subject。
Comment on structural issues
In the 600-word comment exercise, some of the students had only one validation paragraph, and there was a problem of the subject not being divided and lacking a level of argument. A comment of about 600 words is usually structured as the first paragraph (1) + the reasoning paragraph (2-3) + the end paragraph (1). For minor comments within 300 words, there is no clear subparagraph requirement, and paragraphs 1-3 are possible。
Now, i've chosen some "good work" for your information. Of course, good work is not always perfect, and it is easy for everyone to learn the virtues of others and combine what they do well with what they do well in order to achieve more advancement。
In conclusion, it is important to remind you that professional practice is not so heavy as to have one effect on writing a job, and to think and replay it, you are confident that you will be able to advance quickly. As far as press comments are concerned, it would be good to have a well-structured, logical and well-speaked press comment. In the sprinting phase, you can gradually move up the speed of writing and optimize the language expression so that you can complete a press comment that meets the target within the time frame.
