It is worth mentioning that our country has achieved tangible results in promoting equity in education. By the end of 2016, 1824 county-level units across the country had adopted a county assessment of the basic balance in the development of compulsory education; more than 90 per cent of students in government-run primary and secondary schools were enrolled in all 19 sub-provincial and more large cities; and the number and percentage of students attending key higher education institutions in rural and poor areas had increased further
