Hello! It is a pleasure to meet your friends in the media and take this opportunity to thank you for your long-standing interest in and support for guangxi ocean economics! I will now give a brief introduction to the economic performance of the guangxi ocean in 2023。
Since last year, guangxi has been following up on the important directions given by general secretary xi to guangxi's major strategy, in particular to “strength in the development of the ocean economy”, and has given strategic direction to charting the sea economy, which has continued to maintain a steady positive, medium-term and medium-term dynamic。
First, the total ocean economy is growing faster. According to preliminary accounting data from the ministry of natural resources, the region-wide total ocean production in 2023 amounted to 25. 684 billion yuan, an increase of 9. 3 per cent over the same period, an increase of 3. 9 percentage points over 2022. The overall upturn in the ocean economy has been positive, with a solid, dynamic and backward stance. Second, the maritime niche industry has consolidated and upgraded. There has been a strong recovery in marine tourism, with a “well blow” increase in the number of visitors on holiday in important attractions such as silver beach in the north sea, xianzhou, samsung bay in chinzhou and white wave beach in the city, and, for the first time in the three coastal cities, the cumulative number of visitors exceeded 135 million, an increase of 135. 7 per cent by comparable calibre. Newly constructed gravitational deep-water net boxes of 46. 39 million cubic metres, four national marine rangeland demonstration areas aggregated 455. 6 million cubic metres of fish reefs, the silver sea area of north sea city was selected for a national pilot list of economic zones for coastal fishing ports, and four fishing ports, such as electric construction and sand, were awarded national civil fishing ports. Major marine engineering construction projects are ongoing. The use of seawater continues to expand, with the first nuclear power plant, the hualong i, operating in the western region, the official commercialization of the nuclear power unit 3 at the port-of-city, the generation of electricity through the network of the third phase of the state power plant in chinzhou, and an increase of 23. 4 per cent in the use of sea water by enterprises in coastal areas。
Fourthly, the enabling power of marine science and technology continues to grow. In all, 33 provincial science, technology and innovation platforms have been identified, such as priority laboratories, new research and development institutions and science, technology and innovation cooperation bases. In recent years, guangxi has been following up on the important directions of the secretary-general xi jinping in the series “deeply developing the ocean economy, port industry, etc.” of “to tuchang” and has accelerated the development of a number of major ocean-led projects. Next, we will insist on project ownership, greater coordination of services, better security of the elements, greater cooperation in the development of major marine projects, solid support for the high-quality development of the ocean economy, and accelerated construction of maritime zones。
The first is the solid preparation of major project plans. Based on marine resources and industry bases, project planning reserves and up-front work are organized in areas such as the traditional niche marine industry and the cultivation of new industries. Increased cooperation with the provinces of shandong and guangdong to advance the design of more industrial projects, including deep-sea scientific and technological equipment, to foster the development of new qualitative productivity in the marine sector.
