Computer connections to personal hotspots are easy to access, mainly in two steps: to open the hotspot on the mobile phone and then to connect the hotspot on the computer。
Step one: turn on your phone
This step is slightly different according to your mobile phone operating system (android or apple ios):
For android:
Open the cell phone settings。
Find and click on “networks and the internet”, “connection and sharing” or similar options (different brands and android versions may have different names)。
Click "personal hotspots", "moved hotspots" or "net sharing and portable hotspots" persoNal hotspot / mobile hotspot / tethering & portable hotspot。
Turn on the hotspot switch: find wlan hotspots, portable wi-fi hotspots, or similar options, and open the switch to the right。
Set hotspot name and password (important!):
Sets a hot password (password). It is strongly recommended that a complex and secure password be put in place to prevent other people from gliding. Write down this name and password, which you need to use when connected to the computer。
Some mobile phones can also set the number of devices, frequency bands (2. 4 ghz / 5 ghz) allowed to be connected, etc., usually by default。
For iphone/ ios:
Open the cell phone settings。
Click "perso"I don't know. (if not found, it could be in the cellular - > personal hotspot)。
Enables the "allow others to joan" right-hand switch。
View or set password:
The "wi-fi password" is displayed below the switch. This is the password you need to enter when your computer connects. You can click on it to make changes. Take this password。
Iphone's hotspot name is usually your iphone's name (which can be viewed and modified by setting up > > > general > > about the machine > name)。
Step 2: connect to your computerCell phones are hot
This step is slightly different according to your computer operating systems (windows or macos):
For windows computers (for example, windows 10/11):
Click on the network icon at the bottom right of the taskbar: usually a wi-fi sector icon or a small computer icon (if there is no network connection)。
You should be able to see the cell phone hotspot name you just set up in the list of networks that pop up。
Click on your phone hot name。
Click the connect button。
Enter password: the system will prompt you to enter the network security key, then enter the hot code you set on your phone。
Click next or ok。
Wait a moment, the computer will connect to your phone hotspot. The network icon of the taskbar shows the connected state when the connection is successful。
For macos computer (mac):
Click on the wi-fi icon (spread icon) at the top right corner of the top menu bar of the screen。
In the drop-down menu, you should be able to see your phone hotspot name (ssid) in the list of available networks. It's sometimes listed separately in "perso."Nal hotspots)。
Click on your phone hot name。
Enter the password: if you need a password (usually for the first connection), enter the hot code you set on your phone。
Click join。
Wait a moment, mac will connect to your phone hotspot. When connected successfully, the wi-fi icon of the menu bar becomes solid。
Important reminders and notes:
Data traffic consumption: computers using cell phone hot spots to access the internet will consume data traffic in your phone set. Large-flow operations, such as downloading, video watching and so on, can consume quickly. Keep an eye on your flow packages and avoid extra costs。
Cell phone consumption: turning on hot spots will significantly increase cell phone consumption. If long-term use is required, it is recommended that mobile phones be connected to chargers。
Signal intensity: the speed and stability of computer access depends on the intensity of mobile network signals you receive on your mobile phone and the intensity of wi-fi signals between the computer and your mobile phone. We'll try to get our phones and computers closer。
Number of connections: most hands-on opportunities limit the number of equipment connected to both hot spots (usually 5-10 units)。
Can't connect
Confirms that mobile hotspots are on and that mobile data networks are normal。
Confirms that the password entered by the computer is fully correct (case-sensitive)。
Try turning off the hot spots and re-open them。
Try turning off the computer wi-fi and re-open it。
Restart cell phones and computers。
Make sure mobile phones do not turn on the power-saving mode to limit hotspots。
Following the above steps, computer access to the hot spots via mobile phones is generally successful。
