With the theme “early education in a new era: the globalization and localization of curricula and pedagogy”, nearly 400 early childhood education (ece) scholars, practitioners and policymakers from 17 countries and regions around the pacific region gathered in shanghai to explore new avenues for innovative practices in early childhood education。

The opening ceremony was attended by the president of shanghai teacher training university, zhuang, and the president of the board of directors of the society for early childhood education studies of the pacific rim. The deputy director of the shanghai city board of education, yang zhenfeng, presented the opening report on the theme " organizing every kindergarten in front of the home, caring for every young child to grow happy " , presenting developments in preschool education in shanghai, relevant reflections and initiatives to build quality pre-school education, and practical research to improve the quality of childcare。
Following the opening ceremony, zhu jia hung, founding president of the china chapter of the pacific rim society for early childhood education studies, presented the first keynote presentation on the theme " the use of ai in early childhood education in china " . Zhu jia hung shared information around the three core issues of “ai app what can be done for early childhood education” “how to choose through training ai app” “how to handle the interaction between teachers, young children and ai app”。
The first seminar was on “creating the future: indigenous innovation practices in pre-school education in the context of globalization”. Liu yihong, associate professor at the university of education of hong kong, liang jiechi, associate professor at the chinese university of hong kong, and lin anxiko, associate professor at the university of kyeong yi, japan, shared their reports。
The congress held four keynote addresses, two international symposiums, 36 parallel sub-forums, two poster shows and one academic workshop, and invited national and international guests to visit five shanghai kindergartens to conduct a thematic discussion on the theory and practice in the field of preschool education in shanghai, with a view to exploring hot spots and cutting-edge trends in pre-school education, building bridges between the world and the mainland and contributing to the prosperity of regional pre-school education。
