On march 12th, the same group of the chinese people's solidarity organization entered the village of nishiguang, carrying out an awareness-raising campaign on the theme “singing the financial network to protect consumer security”。
At the site of the event, staff members were able to spread knowledge of financial deprivation to villagers in terms of easy-to-understand language and live-in cases, in the form of banners, advisory desks, leaflets and face-to-face lectures. Focusing on eight rights of financial consumers, protection against telecommunications fraud, protection from illegal fund-raising, vigilance against illegal surrogate withdrawals, and the financial trap on old-age pensions, they explain common fraud schemes and prevention techniques and remind villagers to keep their own “money bags” safe, bearing in mind that they are “no trust, no disclosure, no transfer”. In response to hot-spot issues of concern to villagers, such as insurance coverage, policy preservation, settlement process and protection of personal information, staff members provide patient answers, one-on-one counselling services, help villagers to clear up insurance fault areas and create a sense of rational consumption and legal defence. The activities take into account key groups such as the elderly, provide expertise in rural languages and make financial education more accessible and popular。
The event was an effective means of reaching out to the “last kilometre” of financial literacy and was unanimously commended by the villagers of west ink.
