The night falls, the lights begin. For the residents of the jiangdong region of the city, the roads that travel at night are becoming more and more bright today – behind them are the “sweetly desperate” actions of the city’s residential construction agency to keep up with the roadlight upgrade

Prior to that, the long life of the gangdong road lights, the prevalence of ageing and inadequate lighting, had caused many inconveniences to residents travelling at night and had become a source of strong popular expression. In order to effectively address this problem, the housing agency has been active in raising funds to integrate the upgrading of roadlights into priority population projects and to fully initiate the replacement of high-light led light sources on the principle of “energy conservation priority and step-by-step implementation”。

Newly replaced high-light led street lamps have a significant advantage compared to traditional lamps: they have significantly increased lighting, reduced energy consumption by more than 30 per cent, and have a longer life expectancy and lower maintenance costs, providing a clear and comfortable night-lighting environment for the population, as well as a green low-carbon urban development concept. To date, progress has been evident: 78 street lights have been replaced last year, 40 new lights have been added this year, and a cumulative of 118 led lights have been debugged, allowing more and more streets to pass out。

Today, on the night of jiangdong, bright street lights shine and warm the hearts of the people. As a next step, the city of dungeon housing authority will continue to accelerate the pace of retrofitting, tightening the quality of works and refining the construction plan, and is expected to fully complete the road light upgrade in the jiangdong region by the end of 2026. At the same time, a regularized inspection and inspection maintenance mechanism was set up to ensure that every street light functioned in a stable manner, with a nuanced detail, to light up the “last 100 metres” of people travelling at night。
