Ladies and gentlemen, good morning
Welcome to the college of journalism of the university of jordan and to the home of your university. To be honest, i am as excited as you are, because this is where i leave you to teach at nakayama university, 11 years later, just back here in the new semester, just like you. It's good for you to be home; it's good for me to be home
Now, 26 years ago, in 1996, i walked in with the same excitementRedaan press instituteI don't know. Twenty-six years have passed, and i am standing here as a teacher, and i am thinking of three key words: this road, these people, the world。
This way
When i got into school in september 1996, i joined the school media, rehab life, in our dormitory, building 6308, immediately adjacent to guanghua boulevard, where i was editor-in-chief of the school newspaper rehab life, i crawled through the boys' dormitory and sent newspapers to the dormitory。
Later, it also began writing for the school newspaper, revival, often riding old bicycles on this radiant road across the street. On 1 july 1997, when hong kong returned, i gave over the front page from 7 to 8 a. M. To the morning. Every time you see your name written in lead, you get a little excitement。
On the west side of the road is the school's wall of instruction, “teaching and understanding”. Every time i walk on shinawatra, i feel the comfort of the wind blowing, the light of the tree and the warmth of the sun. “the sun and the moon are radiant”, this radiant road, which accompanied me from undergraduate to nine years of doctoral studies。
Looking back at it, it was repeated that led me to the path of professional and professional life, the only name of which was “the news road”. The path of journalism is one of respect for the truth and its approach, one of fear of truth and progress, one of greater social transparency and public interest, and one of “people-centred” ideals and responsibilities. As the secretary-general has said, it is the communicators of party policy ideas, the recorders of times, the promoters of social progress, the watchmen of justice and equity。

Twenty-six years have passed, and many of my 96-grade undergraduates are still struggling on the news. In beijing, zhao jing of the central television regularly appeared on the scene of major events in china, and xinhua photographer kim liwang documented the continuing ecological changes in yangjiang in camera; in guangdong, shenzheng sheng wei used to be the chief journalist and now the leader of the reform; and in shanghai, as you will see next, he updated his short video on a daily basis during his work in the new people's evening newspaper, which dealt with the outbreak in shanghai in march-may of this year, and he also bought food for the old mansaka organization and delivered water to the workers who had left shanghai。
In addition to the practice of journalism, there are a number of academicians in our class. In our college alone, there are four, and besides me, there are teachers zhou yihua, shen guo-chun and wang di. All arrivals are related to departure. They are all practising the spirit of “good learning”, even as much as kim liwang pursued — “good learning to be irreplaceable”。
You're going to meet a lot of older people in journalism schools, and you're going to meet history. The three sculptures at the front door of the academy, the first chinese translator of the communist manifesto, the old headmaster and the head of the department, chen guang tao, will tell you that “the taste of truth is very sweet”; the journalist fan changjiang, who used the north-west corner of china to tell you that reading the great china and seeing the great history will enable life to make its mark; and the publisher, who is so excited that he will live his life in the spirit of “love, truly serve and die”。
Being close to someone who is good does not give you any sense of superiority, but rather stimulates more professional passion, greater social responsibility and a greater energy for life, often forcing you to ask yourself: how to move beyond yourself in this age and contribute to it。
The world
In 2019, mr. Zhang jiang organized an exhibition in the library building entitled " in the name of the news " , which shows, through valuable literature, that there are systemic differences and a common quest for “in the name of the news” to record history and advance times。
Working or studying journalism, or having studied journalism, gives you a deeper understanding of the complex and lower-level situations of society, using curiosity and record-keeping as your life habits, and promoting transparency and truth as your life gene. These gains will indeed open up your world of life — not only to recognize the vast reality, but also to expand the endless spiritual world。
There may be three issues worth thinking about when entering the world of “news”, recognizing the complex world and opening up your world. First, what kind of people are suitable for journalism? Actually, there is no standard answer. The old director of the institute of journalism, tsui xu, advocated the development of “red hearts, bright eyes, handy and hard-working journalists” in journalism and the adoption of the “mixer” path of “two books (classics, literature)”。
Secondly, how can good journalists become excellent journalists? The economist, wang tintin, said that it was a grasp of importance and of the truly important issues of the times and of society, rather than being attracted to the apparent excitement or epidemic。
Thirdly, if you are in journalism, how can you inspire the creativity of life? It is recommended that you take a look at the book " the ultimate problem of humanity " , the main book of the triple life weekly, in which the three creative processes that former generations have given us: "knowledge of knowledge, insight into the moment, value assessment". Knowledge reserves need to be built up on a continuous basis, and from now on you will be able to start saving knowledge。
The strength of time, the advance of life, will prove that your choice of the news is the nearest distance from the ideal of the news. It must be the best starting point for your career in journalism. May you pass this road, with these people, on a news trip to open up a new world in your life。
Finally, i would like to thank the academy for this opportunity and the teachers who have taught me. In particular, my mentor, professor li li li ryong, has spent his whole life doing journalism reform and journalism research, teaching us to love life by teaching us “dying hard” — good academically, “dying hard”. In a recent article, i love news, he mocked himself as being “over seven-to-eight” in his age, but in fact he was always passionate and youthful, as he would exaggerate the fat, fat, big, fat, “hello, you are beautiful”. After many years, if you think of this moment, you think of the teacher of this college, and of the red light of the school of journalism, and hope that you will be as loving and naive as mr. Lee, who has been studying for eight years and teaching for 40 years。
