I. Information profile in the context of globalization
From the beginning of the course, the global dissemination news story and imagination course attracted students from its unique perspective of “deepness” and “temperature”. Mr. Zhang began with an ambitious picture of the globalization of international news and media, creating a framework for his fellow students to understand global communications。
Over the classroom, mr. Zhang leads students through the flood of information. From the rhetorical tactics of the international media giants to the unique perspective of regional coverage; from the subversion of communication patterns by technological innovation to the shadow of geopolitical narratives ... She skilfully woven complex theories into a carefully selected domestic and international case. Students are able to systematically look at the global picture of news dissemination and understand how different cultural contexts, different technological platforms, different ideologies tell different stories about the same event. The ten-day deep architecture opened a window to the world for each participant. Outside the windows are sunlight, ancient buildings and euphemisms, and within the windows, a group of thirsty young people are looking forward to and speaking out on an international topic。

The quality of the teaching and the fineness of the classroom design of mr. Zhang's classroom is that the theoretical component complements the case studies and nurtures each other. Particularly impressive is the moment of discussion and collaboration of a panel。
Students are divided into different groups, with their opinions divided around well-designed cases. Small discussion circles, cross-sections, sparks. Students from different geographical and professional backgrounds, with their own cultural stigma and mindsets, try to interpret the narrative logic behind the same news event. Differences are the most valuable resource at this point in time — to understand why the other side thinks that, and to explore the cultural codes and values that lie behind narratives. Q: what is an impressive moment or event in this summer school course
Teacher zhang: the potential of my students really surprises me! The team's work is done quickly and well. In a matter of days, they have efficiently completed data collection, collation and analysis, and have been able to study the theory of living in the classroom during the discussions, with far more quality than i thought. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that many undergraduate students do not systematically study research methods, but i am particularly pleased with their ability to learn and to study。
Q: does this summer school course meet its intended objectives
Mr. Zhang: not only did it meet expectations, but it was even more effective than i expected. The relatively small size of the class this year has, on the contrary, significantly increased the level of classroom activity and the quality of interaction. In particular, during the small debate in the classroom, there was a very high level of enthusiasm and discussion. In this atmosphere, the performance is indeed better than in the larger classes of previous years (when interaction will be relatively limited). Overall, this year's classroom atmosphere is very happy and full of enthusiasm for exploration。
Q: what changes have been made in the curriculum this year compared to last year
Teacher zhang: the biggest change comes from changing the content level over time. Digital technology and the rapidly changing global environment must keep our courses on the front line. This year, reference was made to the most recent studies, and the recommended books and articles also focused more on timeliness. Even if some cases are the same as last year, we have updated and deepened the perspective that leads students to analyse cases, the data used and the conclusions that eventually emerge, given the changes in communication technologies, geopolitical circumstances and so on. This year has also seen, in particular, the introduction of cases related to current international conflicts, which are important for understanding narrative tactics and complexities in global dissemination。
Q: what is the greatest feeling in the course
Teacher chang: there are two things that are felt most deeply. One is the challenge and value of language conversion. The experience of teaching in english, chinese and english, which used to be common, is very different and challenging for me personally, but very worthwhile. The smoother communication in the mother tongue has made it easier for students and teachers to wipe out the spark of ideas and stimulate more innovative ideas. The second is the strong initiative shown by students. The special nature of summer courses is that students and teachers come out of strong interest and will, an inherent drive that increases the willingness to actively explore and discuss. Together with an open and inclusive academic environment in the north, students are particularly encouraged to speak freely, and the atmosphere of communication throughout the classroom is excellent and active. This state of teacher-student resonance and deep interaction is really very rare and can be described as “unattractive”。

Mr. Chang: summer school is an extremely valuable opportunity! It allows you to reach new areas in a short period of time, to break the limits of the original profession and to try interdisciplinary exploration.
