I saw the silence of the mountain when i first arrived in the village of shikomo。
The village of ishkomo lies at the border between the sichuan province of sunshan and the chuyu region of yunnan province, where the mountains rise and fall, piled up and piled up, many of the hills and hills that are endless and cannot be seen at the end. This is typical of the dry-hot valley climate, which continues to be overshadowed by a hot, dry and rainy climate. The sand lands are not watered and fat, and the villagers of the ancestral generations are guarding a few acres of thin ground to grow maize。
Many of the elderly people, who come out of the sun and come to a sunset, spend a year working to remove the seeds from their fertilizer and have little left. Young people are reluctant to stay in the village and are away to work. What should we do when we look at this vast, but not productive land, and at the life of the villagers, who are hard-working and miserable

"i've never grown. What if i lose?"
In the autumn of 2023, the village task force and village “two commission” cadres were crammed into the field in yamano. During the day, we measure earth, light, temperature, and roll over every piece of land along the river; at night, our cabin lights are lit, over and over again, comparing data and judging soil。
After one visit and one survey, we finally found out about the gifts of the village of shikomo: sufficient light, suitable temperature for the day and night, good air flow along the river and sandy soil, and a good place to plant the fruits of the anti-seasonists。
The news spread that most of the villagers in the village were hesitant and watching. The old man shakes his head and says, "no one has ever planted it, and in the event of a loss of money, we'll do it for a year." intergenerational farming practices and chronic poverty are inadequate and no one can easily try new things。
The village cadre ka hung and sun wenhai were the first to come forward and take the lead in the demonstration field. On the day the first demonstration was made, the land was planted, and a number of villagers stood by the side of the field, with expectations and doubts。

The real attack is just beginning。
In order to select the seedlings that are most suitable for the local soil and water, we have travelled all the seedlings around us, repeatedly comparing quality, disease-resistantness, taste, production and choosing the best species. On the day the first seedlings entered the village, the entrance was crowded with villagers, with their toes on their toes, fine-touching around trucks, and their hands were drawn on green seedlings。
The larger challenge is water scarcity and technological backwardness. Water resources are scarce in the village of shicomo, which is traditionally water-intensive and prone to disease. We are determined to introduce new drip irrigation techniques, but the villagers are generally in conflict: “the machinery is complex, expensive and less expensive than water.” a number of villagers have spoken frankly and privately: “citizens from the city may not know how to grow and make a fool”
In order to give villagers a more intuitive view of the contrast, we have set up a field of contrasts with traditional and scientific dripping. And at that time, i was in the ground almost day by day, and my pants were covered with mud on my feet, and my hands were sharpened, and my hands taught the villagers to plant them, so that they were well fed, and measured. During the day, differences in trends were recorded, and at night, the house was taken to the masonry, which slowly taught the villagers the principles, the accounts and the future。
After some time, the gap between the two fields became apparent. The fruit seedlings in the drip zone are so bright and strong that the leaves are bright and full, and there are almost no pests; the seedlings in the floodland are mixed and yellow. The villagers stood on the fields and looked closely, looking from suspicion to surprise and becoming convinced。

The fruit comes out of the mountain
On the eve of the harvest, the market pressure followed. The sweet and juicy ginseng quickly led to a rounding of the guest price, with successive orders. Our village-based teams and wealth-generating leaders have taken the initiative to open up on-line and off-the-shelf circuits against electric operators and fruit markets。
During the harvest season, i worked side by side with the villagers: fruit picking, sorting, bags, boxes. A truck, full of fresh fruit, drove out of the mountains, hiding in the mountains of the past, and finally turned around。

In 2025, more than 40 farmers in the village of shicomo earned more than tens of thousands of dollars in specialty industries, and the total sales exceeded millions. Once desolate and infertile slopes were turned into green ground of guacamole, and now there is confidence in the poor villagers, who once lamented, to talk about their industries。
The ginseng harvest
In the two years of our stay in the village, i witnessed the transformation of the barren mountains into fertile fields, and the loss of the villagers from sighs to laughing. In the future, i will continue to guard this deep mountain “rich fruit” with the parents and relatives of the village of shikomo, so that the small village in the middle of the mountain may have a good harvest and a good year。
