On the morning of 23 november, the department of education of hainan province and the provincial fire and rescue brigade organized an on-site meeting in wenchang city on fire safety awareness education for primary and secondary schools throughout the province to share experiences of fire awareness education in schools in various parts of hainan in recent years and to study the deployment of promotional measures to promote new developments and breakthroughs in fire safety education in schools. The meeting was attended by the second-level inspector of the department of education of henan province, lu hwang hsiung, the chief engineer of the fire and rescue brigade of henan province, zhang gang, and the deputy mayor of wen chang city, henan province. It is understood that, in recent years, the department of education of hainan province and the fire and rescue brigade have been doing a great deal of good work around the objective of “educate a student, lead a family, influence the society as a whole” in order to ensure the effectiveness of the school's ability to withstand fires. In addition to conducting at least one fire safety education training course per semester, organizing a fire safety evacuation exercise, deploying a fire safety operation and introducing new students into a military training course, primary and secondary schools have been constantly developing and enriching the fire education format, targeting the psychological and physical characteristics of students in each school, through a wide range of different forms of fire education activities, such as fire safety classes, off-campus fire counsellors, fire safety public classes, fire safety competitions, fire safety speech competitions, and so on. The provincial education department and the provincial fire and rescue department also jointly produce more than 900,000 copies of school fire safety materials for free distribution to students, and specify that primary and secondary schools will conduct no less than four classes per semester of fire safety education, essentially creating the “five by” model of “systems, teaching materials, teachers, school hours and places”。

During the course of the meeting, participants visited the general education base of the emergency education unit at wengchang city primary and secondary school, saw the results of the fire safety education exhibition at wengchang city primary and secondary school, the fire safety public course, the fire arts performance and the fire safety school course presentation, observed the students ' fire-fighting radio drills, and watched a report on the experiences of fire safety education at wengchang city school.
