Summary: this paper examines the interconnectedness and interaction of the architectural and decorative features of the ancient inhabitants of different cultural areas by analysing the current state of the ancient inhabitants of the silk road and their architectural constructions and decorative features, applying the common cultural symbols of the ancient inhabitants to the construction of residential programmes in the large urban and rural areas of contemporary times, providing a reference for the direction of the decorating of the buildings of the new age regions, enhancing the awareness of the people of the preservation of the culture of traditional residence and residence, promoting the transmission and continuous innovation of the traditional inhabitants in the new era。
