In order to follow up on the deployment of earthquake mitigation, to secure campus safety lines, and to enhance the city-wide awareness of earthquake mitigation and emergency avoidance capabilities of primary and secondary school students. At the beginning of the new school term in spring 2026, the seismic monitoring centre of hoiben city joined the city and county departments in a well-organized and intensive effort to carry out a series of awareness-raising activities in the context of operation seismic-ann and the university of badiji。
This awareness-raising effort has been effective and comprehensive, focusing on four areas。
I. System advancement and information coverage
The centre systematically collates basic materials, including 8. 37g, such as a guide to earthquake emergency shelter in schools, kopp video-texts and typical cases, in collaboration with the municipal and prefectural authorities, through a popular public information platform of the earthquake prevention and mitigation section of the central province, and distributes over 1,200 information wall charts to over 1100 primary and secondary schools throughout the city to ensure that knowledge of earthquake mitigation reaches each campus and covers every class。
Ii. Research guidance, synergies in place
The centre, in conjunction with the department of municipal ethnological services, organized outreach of municipal and district staff to primary and secondary schools throughout the city to conduct a comprehensive study of earthquake prevention and mitigation education and to promote the integration of emergency evacuation exercises into regular education. To date, a sample of 117 primary and secondary schools has been completed, representing approximately 10 per cent of the total number of schools in the city. Of these, 99 per cent of schools have incorporated earthquake mitigation into their “first class of safety at school” to enrich the educational vehicle and increase the effectiveness of their advocacy efforts through knowledge sessions, earthquake emergency avoidance evacuation exercises, fun answering questions, etc。
Iii. Bringing the lessons to the door, with focus on coverage

Through on-site lectures, interactive answers, simulation exercises and the distribution of brochures, teachers and students were provided with practical knowledge on earthquake avoidance, self-help and so forth, and the “last kilometre” of the campus earthquake mitigation campaign was reached。
Iv. Innovative forms, bright spots in place
The districts (districts) combine practical and innovative forms of teaching. The south creek region explores the integration model of “terrestrial disaster prevention + public interest films”, invites geologists to give lectures and organizes students and teachers to watch the science film guardian. Schools such as the first experimental primary school in the sanctuary and the oneman high school in the twilight zone combine earthquake-prevention and emergency escape exercises with security lectures. The 8th middle school school in ebein city held a lecture on the theme “stunning disaster mitigation, protecting lives”, creating a strong atmosphere of “security for all and emergency response”。
The theme and results of this series of “first class in school safety” are clear, helping teachers and students to acquire emergency risk avoidance skills and to raise awareness of safety and security, thereby strengthening the basis for school safety. The full implementation of the radiation effects of “educate a student, affect a family, leverage society as a whole” has increased the city-wide capacity for earthquake mitigation at the grass-roots level and has created a solid foundation for accelerating the construction of safe and friendly lines for civil protection against earthquakes。
