The headlight is a “soul device” for the stage lights, which cannot be separated from the scenes of commercials, bars, weddings, concerts, etc. However, many newcomers choose to buy only “high power, high turn speed” and end up either idle equipment or performance failure. In fact, three key indicators are at the core of the rock headlight selection — speed, pattern, brightness — and fix these three points, matching the use scene, and avoiding 90 per cent of the selected pits。
I. Turning: not as fast as possible. Fitting scenes are key
Rotation is the most intuitive "dynamic performance" of the shake headlight, which directly influences the creation of the performance atmosphere, with the core viewing of the horizontal (x-axis) and vertical (y-axis) parameters, usually in °/s (degree/s)。
• bars, nightclubs, fast-paced businesses: high-speed headlamps selected, horizontal ≥240°/s, vertical ≥180°/s. High-speed rotations quickly create an atmosphere of motion and bursting, switching beams in conjunction with the music festival, and aligning the scenery with the rhythm of the boom and the show。
• marriages, conferences, theatre plays: low-speed headlights are selected, horizontally 120°/s, vertically 80°/s. It works more smoothly at a slow pace and avoids video shakes, visual discomfort, a warm wedding, a serious press release, and the emotional expression of a small play。
• catalysing alert: do not look only at the “highest rate of turn” and focus on the start-up slide. A number of low-priced lights are operating at high speed, leaving carden, and beam sweeps have a “condolence” and are shown as amateurs, suggesting on-site testing。
Ii. Patterns: material is at the core. Sufficient quantity
The "mass level" of the light is determined by the pattern of the headlight, and material and practicality are key when selecting the number of patterns。
1. Pattern material: priority is given to glass patterns that are clear, heat-resistant and non-transformable, and that are not blurred or colour-blind, even if they operate at high power over a long period of time; the metal pattern is avoided, although cheap, but is rusty and blurred, and long-term use can lead to low light effects。
2. Number of patterns: it is a waste of routine 8-12 patterns to cover most of the scenes, to spend extra money on the high match of 20+ patterns, and to spend very little on actual performances。
Operational function: rotation of selected patterns, shake headlamps for pattern shakes, rapid enrichment of the light level — for example, rotation patterns at weddings can create romantic dizziness, and tremors at commercials can increase the impact of the stage, much more useful than the “multigraphs” themselves。
Brightness: look at the luminous + site and do not be fooled by “power”
The brightness is the “basic performance” of the shake headlight, but the power is too high to be measured only by the number of watts, combined with current values and the use of site combinations。
1. Light source type: the current mainstream is led headlamps, which are more energy-efficient, heat-dispersing and slow to light, have lower long-term use costs and prioritize led light sources than traditional halogen lamps。
2. Brightness selection criteria:
Small and medium-sized indoor spaces (200 m2, such as small wedding halls, conference rooms): 150 w-230w led headlamps, with a liquid value of 15000 lm, sufficient brightness to cover the entire field, without exposure or dimness。
Large- and medium-sized sites (200-500m2, e. G., commercial stage, bars): selected 260w-350w led headlamps, with a circulation value of 20,000m, to meet long-range beam projection and large area lighting needs。
Pipe avoidance: do not buy “500w+” low-cost shake headlamps, mostly of a vantage power, with insufficient actual brightness, and may lead to overheating and reduced lifetime of equipment due to excessive power。
Iv. Additional elements of the selection: these three points determine lateral savings
In addition to the three core indicators, there are three more details to help you select a more scalable headlight:
1. Dispersive heat performance: see if there are efficient dispersing fans, metal dissipation casings, large amounts of heat resulting from the long-term high-power operation of the headlights, which cause equipment to die, light to drop, and even reduce life。
2. After brand sale: priority is given to brands with quality assurance for more than one year and door-to-door maintenance, stage equipment is used with high frequency, and performances are scheduled without delay in the event of failure。
3. Signal compatibility: confirmation of support for the dmx512/art-net signal protocol, which is compatible with the mainstream light console (tiger, ma, pearl table) and avoids the inability of late-stage equipment to actuate。
Summary
The core logic for the selection of the headlights is to set the scene, then look at the core indicators and eventually add details. High-speed, low- and medium-speed, quiet scenes; glass drawings, 8-12 patterns are sufficient; high parameters are not blindly followed by field power and fluidity. The selected headlights thus match the demand for performances and contain costs and are less costly to use。
