Recently, the chinese consumer association, in association with the consumer rights and protection committee of hebei and jiangsu provinces, conducted a comparative experiment on 25 items of domestic projector products for sale. The test found that the projector's key indicators for led-based products were confusing and that some claims of “4k high resolution” for clarity were far from being tested。
A total of 18 brands are known to be involved in 25 samples, with the exception of two samples with light sources of ultra-high pressure mercury lamps and 23 samples with led lamps。
The results showed significant differences in performance in the image display of the sample. Of the 23 led photo-source samples, the maximum output was more than 20 times different from the lowest, 10 were lower, and only dozens (lm, photo-output units) were fluid. In 10 products, the clarity reached 720 television lines and the best 1080 television lines met high-resolution display requirements. Only four of the visual performance indicators performed well。
There are 11 samples with voice recognition, 21 samples with wireless screens for mobile phones, 18 for computers, 6 for pad, 21 for video app, music app, photo albums, documents, end interfaces, etc., and 6 for projectors with automatic focus, with rich scenery and easy to operate. Two samples claimed to have wireless screen functionality, but the test found that they could not be achieved。
According to the relevant officials, a comparative test of 25 domestic projectors revealed problems of inconsistent implementation standards, confusion in performance and exaggerated promotion of product performance in the current domestic projector industry. Individual products do not even have a statement of use, some do not indicate a product standard number as required by national mandatory standards, some do indicate a national standard number only for electrical safety and none. As a result of inconsistent bid selection, some enterprises use inconsistent and unregulated concepts in their main performance presentations, inconsistent testing standards for performance indicators, and are unable to match current industry and internationally commonly used tests, both to the detriment of consumers and to avoid regulation。
To this end, the ccpa calls on the producers concerned to specify the production criteria in accordance with the law, to use the industrial criteria for projectors, to clearly and accurately identify and publicize the performance of the products and to create a competitive market environment that facilitates both the selection of consumers and the orderly development of the industry。
It was suggested that consumers need to understand the basic concepts of some of the projectors ' key indicators. First, projector products should describe their brightness with "light output" rather than brightness. The projector for led light sources, with light output of less than 5,000, should be good at several hundred permutation levels; the projector output for laser or ultra-high pressure mercury light sources can reach thousands of permutation. Therefore, it should be understood that the projector light sources are different and that the output performance of the product is very different。
Second, the term “4k high resolution” is wrong and, as currently defined precisely, “4k” means ultra-high resolution, with an inherent resolution of 4096 x 2160, while “high resolution” is 2k, with an inherent resolution of 1920 x 1080, with significant differences in the clarity of ultra-high and high-resolution images。
Finally, whether it claims to be high or super-high, the enterprise should state that “high” or “super-high” refers to the inherent resolution of the projector display system or to the image format supported. This should be clear to consumers when purchasing, avoiding misunderstandings and affecting use and viewing。
