It was noted that the core functions of the “green low carbon standardization technical committee of the ministry of industry and information technology” had been initially identified: they would be closely centred around the ministry's green low carbon centre, strengthening top-level design and coordination, accelerating the revision of comprehensive and basic standards in basic common use, terminological definitions, labelling and methodologies, integrated evaluation, data quality and integrated management in industry and information technology, and building a solid foundation for improving the national system of green low carbon standards。
Industry has pointed out that accelerating the supply of green low-carbon standards will have far-reaching implications for the development of green and high-quality industries. It is understood that in recent years, the ministry of industry and information technology has continued its systematic work on building a green low-carbon standard system。
Build a standard system to support green manufacturing
The ministry of industry and information technology, the second-level inspector of the department of energy conservation and integrated use, has made a presentation, and the ministry of industry and communications has issued documents such as the system of standards in the field of energy conservation and integrated use in industry and communications, the green manufacturing standards system, the carbon-climate-climate-climate-climate-climate-climate-climate-climate-class-class-class-class-class-class-class-industry system, among others, cumulatively issued standards for the implementation of the green low-carbon sector。
At the same time, the ministry of industry and communications has continued to carry out in-depth inspections of industrial energy efficiency, carbon-saving diagnostics, organizing the selection of water-efficient “leaders” enterprises for energy efficiency in priority industries, promoting the construction of poles such as green factories, green industrial parks, green supply chain management enterprises, and regulating the selection and development of enterprises for the integrated use of renewable resources such as scrap steel and plastics。
According to chen daeqi, the electronic standards institute, as the secretary-general of the green low carbon standardization unit of the ministry of industry and information technology and the department of electronic industry standardization, has always been central to the standardization process, providing key support for the construction and improvement of the standards system。
He explained that the e-standards institute had led the revision of more than 200 low-carbon green standards such as the green plant evaluation general principles and the green industrial park evaluation general principles, and that, based on those standards, it had in-depthly supported the creation of green manufacturing models, the monitoring of industrial energy conservation, the selection of energy efficiency “leaders” enterprises, the selection of green data centres and the recycling and integrated use of electric bicycle lithium batteries。
A key breakthrough in product carbon footprint accounting
Journalists have been informed that, in the area of focus on product carbon footprint accounting, the electronic standards institute has made key progress with over 100 productive research units, such as tsinghua university and kunming polytechnic university — “the carbon footprint background database for lithium battery products (version 3. 0)” was officially launched on 6 november 2025。
The continuing iterative upgrading of the database, which will provide authoritative data support for accurate quantification of carbon footprints throughout the life cycle of lithium batteries, marks another solid step in our country's capacity-building for key low-carbon green technology standards and infrastructure。
