From 12 january to 12 february 2026, the people's network conducted its twenty-fifth two national survey in beijing, on 13 february (journalist dun chi-hye, leung chiopung). The results show that, "Human security"."Social governance"."Full-scale control of the party“standing third on the hot list is the central concern of netizens. The hot phrase for the fourth to twelfth ranks reads: “state of full compliance with the rule of law” “social civilization” “cientific innovation” “rural renewal”Economic development“all-round deepening of reform” “beautiful china” “domestic demand-led” “open to the outside”。
Of those who participated in the two surveys, 63. 12 per cent were women and 36. 88 per cent men; more than 60 per cent were university and university students; and 43. 19 per cent, followed by 10. 71 per cent of zhejiang, were geographically distributed。
People's security is at the top of the list
People's lives are guaranteed, the temperature is passed, and the hearts and minds of the people are protected. In this survey, “human security” was the top priority, reflecting both the deep desire of the people of the internet for their well-being and the country's success and depth of a series of pro-people initiatives。
The survey showed that internet users have generally recognized the benefits of social services such as old-age care in the community, health-care personal account funds across the province, and low-income groups helping to boost the efficiency of life, and looked forward to sustained efforts by the state to “progressively improve the basic social assistance system” for urban and rural residents, so as to strengthen the social safety net。
Secure tenure is the foundation of the population, and the surveyed netizens have high expectations for improved living quality: 60. 45 per cent have called for accelerated upgrading of old housing, old neighbourhoods and old neighbourhoods; 57. 16 per cent have recommended that the needs of families in need, wage earners and new citizens be focused and that the provision of secure housing be increased; 56. 86 per cent of the population expect a modest reduction in the interest rate on housing funds and commercial bank loans。
More than 50 per cent of the internet population recommended expanding access to youth employment, strengthening the basic rights and interests of workers in new employment patterns and overages, promoting greater synergy between industrial development and employment expansion, and addressing employment challenges. In addition, the topic of marriage and parenting has generated widespread concern, with over 60 per cent of the internet advocating for the protection of the professional rights and interests of the married and childbearing population, increasing housing policies in favour of married and childbearing families, increasing the criteria for marriage, childbirth and parenting allowances, and effectively reducing the burden of family care。
“social governance” heat rises: internet calls for improved governance effectiveness
Social governance is directly related to people's sense of access, happiness and security. In this survey, “social governance” continues to rise in heat, leaping to the second highest on the hot list, reflecting the people’s eagerness to improve governance systems and build higher levels of peace in china。
Basic governance is the “last kilometre” of governance in the country, with internet users making an active contribution around breaking governance bottlenecks and improving service effectiveness: 65. 78 per cent of the internet population calls for the opening of channels for the expression of people's claims and for the resolution and efficient handling of disputes; 59. 73 per cent of the internet population recommends the installation of digital governance platforms to bring about “one-stop-shop” on people's lives; and 53. 88 per cent of the internet population expects the full implementation of the list of communal (street) duties to regulate grass-roots performance and improve governance。
Promoting parity in basic public services is an important tool for solid social governance. The survey showed that 74. 36 per cent of the internet population wanted to focus on priority groups, such as the elderly, and to optimize the delivery of public services; more than 60 per cent of the internet population suggested focusing on remote rural and peri-urban areas, complementing the basic public service boards and promoting balanced service development in urban and rural areas。
Internet users have recommended a continuous deepening of cyber-ecological governance, such as internet rumours, information cocoon houses, personal privacy leaks, algorithm discrimination, and more than 60 per cent of internet users have recommended greater penalties for violations on internet platforms, greater cross-sectoral co-regulation, open channels for reporting violations on the internet, and continuous environmental clean-up of the network and improved digital governance。
Full from the tight party: netizens suggest maintaining anti-corruption high-handedness
The success of the ruling party is a matter of economic and social development in general and of the people in general. In the survey, the “all-round party” was ranked third on the list. The government has expressed the high expectations of the netizens to create a good party style and move towards a full-blown party。
Over the past year, the party has been deeply involved in the implementation of the eight central provisions on spiritual learning, and party organizations at all levels have continued to follow up on the transformation process and have managed to tackle the outstanding problems. Internet users have generally reported that the problems of “incompetence, inaction, misconduct, false conduct” and “incorrectness of research” have been effectively curbed, and 65. 38 per cent of internet users have felt deeply that “reducing documents, meeting numbers, improving the quality of documents, meeting efficiency” and so on has been a negative effect。
Combating corruption is a major struggle that cannot and must not be lost. 83. 01 per cent of the internet population felt that anti-corruption pressure must be maintained at all times, with the routine “foot-and-foot” of the tigers, insisting on the investigation and punishment of corruption; 73. 83 per cent recommended strict control of the disciplinary and inspection teams, the development of internal control mechanisms and the firm fight against “black under the lights”; and more than 60 per cent called for the improvement of the joint disciplinary mechanism for key bribe-payers and for the strict management of the “racing” phenomenon。
With regard to the polishing of the watchwords, the netizens are keen to “further conduct political visits and keep a close eye on the strong public response”; over 60 per cent of the internet propose to strengthen the monitoring of the watch and correction, to address the problems of poor and false corrections, and to open channels of public scrutiny, to optimize the online reporting platform and mail reception process, and to make monitoring more direct and efficient。
The year 2026 is the beginning of the “fifty-five” programme. Netizens are highly concerned with all aspects of economic and social development and are active: 81. 39 per cent of the internet population is looking to expand domestic demand-related policies to accelerate landings and effectively reduce employment and stress; 74. 32 per cent are advocating for the centralization of state capital in key sectors and critical areas related to national security and the lifeblood of the national economy; and over 60 per cent are looking forward to furthering digital applications such as “ai+government” “ai+ education”
With the results of this survey and the voices of hundreds of millions of people, the network journalists will be able to come to the scene and report on the work of the members of the commission, and on the dynamic practices of the conglomerate, to convey the people's aspirations and mobilize their efforts。
