Please guide this particular group of people
15 october, international day of the blind, a special group of people. On this day, please lead them。
One person in my country blinds every minute
The international day of the blind, also known as white cane, was established by the world organization of the blind at its conference in riyadh in 1984. The world blind union (wbu) is an international unified blind organization established in 1984。
In the 1980s, we conducted a survey on visual disabilities. The results show that there are nearly 13 million persons with visual disabilities, of whom about 5. 5 million are blind and about 7. 5 million are visually impaired. The main diseases of the blind and low vision of children under 14 are congenital genetic eye diseases, such as congenital cataracts, congenital small-eye corneal membranes, retina chromosomal variability, albinism, visual nervous atrophy, etc. The main diseases of blind or visually impaired older persons over 60 years of age are cataracts。
Every year, about 450,000 new blinds, 1. 35 million low-sighted persons, or approximately one person per minute, and three persons with low-sightedness will become blind. If we do not take strong measures, by 2020 the number of persons with visual disabilities in our country will be four times that of 2013 and will reach more than 50 million。
The primary disease leading to blindness - cataract
With the socio-economic development of cataracts, the improvement of the health of the population, the control of infectious eye disease and the increase in the population and the increase in life expectancy, the number of persons with cataracts in our country accounts for about 50 per cent of the blind, and the number of new increases each year as our ageing population increases. The size of the country, the significant differences in the incidence of cataracts in different regions, the significantly higher incidence in the south and tibet regions than in the north, are closely related to geographical latitude and altitude。
Unmask the mystery of cataract
So what is the disease of cataract? How do we prevent it? With these questions, we interviewed zhang hui lin, the head of ophthalmology at the central hospital。
Director zhang told us: “there is an organ in our eyes called crystals, which are transparent and resilient in normal circumstances. Like the camera's lens, the crystals can be seen far and near through their concentration. Clitoris appear to be obscurant, and the condition that affects vision is called cataract. The cataracts, due to their inauspiciousness, the lack of significant stage development and the slow pace of onset of the disease, generally do not attract the attention of older persons in the early and medium term, and only when they develop quickly to become invisible. Even when some patients are mature, this is one of the important reasons for the blindness of cataracts。
You have to know that
The details of life are often critical to health, and reducing the incidence of cataracts must begin at the point of life。
1. Avoid strong ultraviolet light. Because strong light, especially solar ultraviolet light, is very damaging to crystals, the longer exposure time, the greater the likelihood of cataracts. Therefore, when outdoor light is strong, coloured glasses or caps should be worn。
2. Avoiding water shortages in muscles. The lack of water in older persons is also one of the causes of crystal mixing, so that the habit of drinking water is developed。
3. Not too long for each eye, avoiding eyeglass fatigue. Keep looking away and relax your eyes。
4. Eat. Scientific research has found that daily tea consumption has had a good effect on preventing cataracts from occurring and developing. Food with vitamin c, zinc and selenium is also good for preventing cataracts。
Control of blood sugar, avoidance of trauma, reduction of radiation, etc。
Initiatives
In order to prevent cataract diseases, it is hoped that society in general, and older friends in particular, will act to take care of their physical condition, actively examine and take preventive, preventive and curative measures. Feel social progress with our bright eyes, and national development brings us a richer life。
