01English language reform in advanced examinationsInitiatives
I heard the test changes
One of the new core changes in the english language reform of 2025 was the independence and upgrading of the tests heard. The hearing content, which was previously part of the written examination, is now independent and upgraded to a comprehensive hearing test in the form of a machine test. The scores and examination time have also increased, from 30 to 35 and to 35 minutes, providing candidates with more adequate response time。

The content and format of the examination were adjusted accordingly, with greater emphasis on the combination of speech and hearing. The new features include repeater and improvise questions and answers, which seek to comprehensively assess the hearing capacity of candidates. Candidates are required to take two flight examinations, in december 2024 and march 2025, respectively. Students who have obtained full marks in the first examination will not be required to take a second examination。

Reform and adjustment of written examinations
Although the total score for the written examination is still 115, the length of the examination has been reduced and it may be cancelled, which is subject to further official confirmation. The reform is more focused on the logic of reading understanding and writing, and it is expected to add applied writing or opinion-telling topics. Therefore, candidates need not only to increase the speed of answering questions but also to strengthen their text analysis capacity to respond to these changes。

Curriculum reform for basic education
At present, the basic education curriculum is moving towards a greater focus on the practical use of skills and the development of a comprehensive curriculum. This trend is reflected in the decrease in the number of visits to traditional knowledge sites and the increase in the number of hands-on applications and integrated capacity surveys. Thus, in preparing for the examination, candidates must not only gain a solid understanding of the basics, but also focus on upgrading their practical capacities and their combined qualities to meet this trend of reform。

The proportion of hours spent in english has declined from about 10 per cent to 6 per cent to 8 per cent, although it has decreased but its status as a major subject has not changed. This adjustment does not mean a decrease in the importance of the english-language subject, but rather a greater emphasis on interdisciplinary integration. Today, english teaching will be more linked to scientific and social topics, reducing mechanical memory tasks, aimed at providing students with a more balanced burden of disciplines and encouraging them to develop their diversity。

Recommendations and responses
Student and parent advice
In order to respond to new developments in english subjects, students and parents are advised to focus on the intensification of learning-based training to help them better adapt to the new trends in english teaching, i. E., to integrate closely with scientific and social topics and to reduce mechanical memory tasks. Through intensive learning and operational training, students not only improve their english language communication skills but also provide a solid foundation for future academic and professional paths。

In order to further improve their capacities, students and parents are advised to make full use of the ai vernacular assessment tool and the simulation machine examination software, which allow specific exercises to be conducted on such topics as repeats, questions and answers, while emphasizing the accuracy of pronunciation and speed of response. In everyday life, the english language sense may be developed by listening to english podcasts or by watching video material, thereby improving english's hearing skills。

Optimizing the preparedness strategy
In order to address time constraints, students are advised to use time-bound brushing methods to improve the efficiency of response. At the same time, there should be a repetition of the high-frequency test points that often appear in the examinations, such as the long and difficult analysis and the construction of the paper structure. If the post-writing style is cancelled, students can devote more effort to training in the use of text formats。
Reasonable adaptation of disciplines
Parents should avoid blindly increasing the extracurricular training burden on their children in the face of a reduction in the number of hours spent on subjects, and should focus more on developing their comprehensive capacities. Schools may introduce interdisciplinary integration courses such as “english + creativity”, which are designed to develop students' innovative and practical abilities and thus encourage children to participate actively in such practice。
The reform heralds a gradual shift in english language education from “to be at the centre” to “to be at the centre of competence” and a greater focus on the nature of language as a tool and the integration of its core qualities. In order to adapt to this new change, candidates need to meet the demands of the new policy not only by sharpening coping techniques, but also by developing communication skills in the real context。
