Recently, the world intellectual property organization (wipo) held a summer school on intellectual property at the people's university of china in 2026. The team of prosecutors of the beijing municipal people's procuratorate teaches practical courses on intellectual property inspection in full english to participants from several countries and regions around the world. This was the second year that the beijing municipal prosecution authority was invited to teach at the wio summer school, marking a new stage in the institutionalization of the beijing course on the inspection of foreign intellectual property rights。
The teaching team, consisting of the public prosecutor's offices of foreign intellectual property at the three levels of the city, developed five courses on topics such as the protection of intellectual property in the field of ai, the supervision of civil administrative oversight of intellectual property, the new case of trademarks, criminal protection of industrial works of art, and the protection of foreign intellectual property inspection, covering criminal, civil, administrative and public interest proceedings. Through a living case, participants gained a more intuitive understanding of china's system of judicial protection of intellectual property rights, and there was a strong atmosphere of classroom interaction。

The course for the wipo summer school is a microcosm of the beijing city prosecution service's efforts to deepen the inspection of foreign intellectual property rights. In recent years, the municipal public prosecutor's office has systematically promoted the establishment of foreign intellectual property inspections, focusing on the high level of public access to the capital. On 27 july 2026, the supreme prosecutor issued a circular setting up 10 specialized intellectual property prosecution bases (teams) throughout the country, of which the beijing municipal public prosecutor's office is the only one located in the provincial halls。
As a next step, the beijing municipal prosecution service will continue to deepen its foreign prosecution system, accelerate the development of a composite workforce, open up to a higher level of quality and efficient service, and contribute more to the development of the beijing international centre for science, technology and innovation。
