In order to enrich maritime knowledge, strengthen marine education and further promote maritime power awareness among young university students, on the evening of 28 november, the faculty of mechanical engineering held the finals of the first marine knowledge competition at 7 p. M. In the second floor road hall of the good will building in the tunnel school district, with the participation of six teams of delegates who broke into the finals, the deputy secretary of the college, gao yong, the counsellors of mamen, sun dong-soo, and the vice-secretary of the college of students, peng hualin and kim shih, serving as final judges。
At the beginning of the event, gao yong delivered his opening address, in which he offered his sincere congratulations to the six teams that had broken into the finals, briefly reviewing the description and documentation of the sea in chinese culture, and hoping that the contestants would show it well, give it a calm answer, deal with it and achieve excellence。
This final is based on a joint system, with the finals divided into a group-style response and a round of answers. The teams are well prepared and well-articulated. They have systematically described the importance of the oceans in various areas, including marine life, marine minerals and marine hydropower resources, and have spoken out in favour of marine life, the protection of the marine environment and the rational exploitation of marine resources. After entering the round of questions, the situation on the ground changed dramatically, and the team of representatives of the practice department of the college performed well, with a single score of six in the first round of single-choice questions, with a total score of one. In the ensuing sub-topics, the team continued to lead, responding successively to two judgments and a question-and-answer session, culminating in a large-scale score ahead of the other contestants. The finals also included interactive answers and help sessions for the audience in the field, where the audience interacted positively and the atmosphere rose to a peak。
After an exciting race, the team of representatives of the practical department of the college received the first prize, the mechanical team 1211, the mechanical team 1213 received the second prize, the mechanical team 1214, the mechanical team 1211 and the robot team 1211 received the third prize。
The successful organization of the oceans knowledge competition has allowed the athletes to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the oceans in the context of competitive cooperation, has galvanized the enthusiasm of their fellow students to recognize and focus on the oceans and has further enhanced the maritime power of young university students。
