However, in autumn, garlic cultivation is more demanding in terms of the time taken to sow, and it takes about seven to eight months to sow and harvest, inevitably with pests and diseases such as garlic maggots, root diseases and so forth, and more if it is heavy. So, when should garlic grow? How can we prevent and reduce the occurrence of pests and diseases? How can we make sure we're strong? A few small experiences were shared for use in planting。
1. Autumn garlic planting time
The timing of the planting of garlic in the fall is very different, in some cases very early, in some cases late, in some areas in the south earlier than in the north, such as sichuan, chongqing, guizhou, yunnan, hubei, etc., and in others from late august until early september, while in many places, such as shandong, hebei, henan, jiangsu, anhui, zhejiang and shaanxi, seeded around october. The timing of garlic seeding is largely determined by species and local climatic characteristics. Local seeding can therefore be done on time, in accordance with the previous annual planting season。
2. Treatment of garlic before seeding
Garlic seed is first treated, not only to make it grow, but also to prevent and reduce the occurrence of various pests and diseases. For example, the root diseases, garlic maggots and so on, which often occur in garlic, can be prevented by treating garlic. The solution is to tan the garlic seed for two days before planting, and then impregnate it with water for one day, so that a proper amount of multibacterium can be added to the water and can act as a vaccine against disease. In the other case, the seeding can be mixed with garlic blends and then sowed, preventing both pests and diseases. The most common blends are: ether chlamydia, chlamydia, etc., which can be selected according to their own circumstances。
3. Deep-sliding soil and fertilizing bottoms
Prior to planting garlic, the soil should be ploughed deep and applied to the bottom, which can be mixed into the soil. Fertilizers are dominated by decomposed organic fertilizers, which are insufficient and can be combined with appropriate composite fertilizers as base fertilizers. If bottom fertilizers are used in other ways, care is taken not to expose fertilizers to garlic seeds in order to prevent the creation of rotten seed。
4. Sowing methods
Garlic is grown at a range of about 20 centimetres and a range of about 8-10 centimetres, depending on different varieties and uses. Cultivation can be done in the form of pits or ditches, sowing garlic at a shallow and shallow depth of about 4 to 5 cm, with the garlic petals standing up and facing the head, covering the earth up to 1 cm, after planting, and not exceeding 2 cm, if the soil is too thick. It's about a week after planting。
5. Post-plant management
When the garlic is planted, soil is kept humid and, if the soil is dried, water is poured in time to ensure that the seedlings are ready and to prevent the loss of seedlings. In the north, winter water will also be watered once before the winter freeze, with a combination of water and fertilizer, and cold areas can be covered with weeds, etc. So the spring of next year will return to its prime and flourish。
In addition, garlic is broadcast in the spring and in the autumn, with most areas growing in the autumn. Some cold areas sow in the spring, with specific planting times and methods, depending on local climatic characteristics and seeding habits。
