The sixty-first children's day, by definition, is a child's day of 1 june, which is now designated children's day in many countries around the world. The establishment of international children's day was linked to a famous massacre that took place during world war ii. On 10 june 1942, after the assassination of general heydrich by czech guerrillas, the ss of the nazi party, was covered by the villagers of the local village of lidice. As a result, the nazi german army carried out brutal reprisals, burning all the houses throughout the village, killing 173 male villagers over the age of 15, sending women to concentration camps and killing 88 children by gas in camps. To honour the memory of the village of lidice and all the children of the world who died in the fascist war of aggression, the international federation of democratic women convened an executive committee in moscow in november 1949 to designate 1 june every year as international children's day。

China's first children's day was 4 april 1932.
