The china centre for engineering science and technology knowledge (hereinafter referred to as “the knowledge centre”) is a state-sanctioned, public-interest, open platform for the integration of knowledge resources and services in the field of engineering science and technology. It is an important component of national information development. The knowledge centre aims to provide information support and knowledge services for major national engineering science and technology policy-making, major engineering science and technology activities, enterprise innovation and talent development, and ultimately to become an international, leading and influential centre for information gathering, data mining and knowledge services in engineering and science。
In order to serve the development of engineering science and technology and to support the construction of a high-end think tank at the chinese engineering institute, the knowledge centre has been set up as part of its overall programme of work in 2025, with specific research projects in the area of knowledge services. With a view to mobilizing the full range of actors and promoting innovation in knowledge-based service models, it is now open to social outreach. Specific matters are announced below。
I. Subjects of declaration
1. The unit must have the necessary talent and material conditions to complete the subject. In principle, it shall be an institute of scientific research, a think tank, an enterprise or an enterprise that has established an institute of research with an independent legal personality。
2. The subject person should have a high degree of academic and information service experience in the relevant fields of study and, in principle, should have a full and higher title. In order to ensure that the focus is on research, each person in charge can only declare one subject, depending on a legal entity。
Ii. Steps of the study
The research of knowledge services in the fields of scientific and technological frontier monitoring, risk identification and early warning, strategic research and analysis in five fields of engineering and technology, such as machinery, information, materials, energy and medicine, is financed mainly. The studies on each of these topics include:
1. Information development monitoring services in the field of engineering and technology
2. Engineering and science focus areas and core information resource studies
3. National and international science and technology decision-making support systems and research by leading scientific institutions
4. Current status, trends and comparative assessment of technological developments in the field of engineering, science and technology at home and abroad
5. Other research directions related to the knowledge service content of the knowledge centre project。
Iii. Requests for promises
1. The declaration of research topics should be downloaded and completed as required. The subject is required to complete the application in accordance with the above-mentioned research directions and, upon confirmation of the stamp of the unit in which it is located, to submit a paper version of the application in four copies (with an electronic cd-rom)。
2. The filing deadline is 5 december 2025, whichever is the date of the postmark。
3. The knowledge centre will organize an evaluation of the study's submissions and will select a selection of candidates for the project. The final results will be published on the chinese engineering college portal and a mission letter signed with the selected units. Support for each subject is no more than $300,000, and the duration of the study is three years, limiting one field of engineering and technology. 4. During the implementation of the project, the subject-holder is required to comply with the relevant commitments, fulfil the agreed obligations and complete the study on time。
Iv. Topical outcome requirements
1. During the course of the study, no fewer than 24 issues of advance science and technology briefings are required for each topic, and no fewer than two issues of strategic studies in the output-in-depth analysis category. The cumulative number of members of the chinese engineering college is no less than 40; the results of the study were approved by the provincial ministries and no fewer than two above。
Outcomes such as papers, monographs, reports, etc., funded by the subject need to be clearly identified and funded by the knowledge centre project. 3. The intellectual property rights of the research, analytical reports and related data resources derived from the subject matter are owned by the knowledge centre and submitted for conclusion。
4. Within one month of the termination or termination of the subject matter, a certificate of the results of the study, the use of funds and a report on the outcome of the study shall be submitted to the knowledge centre。
5. The knowledge centre will review the implementation and progress of the subject from time to time and will have the right to terminate the funding for those not carried out in accordance with the terms of reference。
