Pvc is a form of thermoplastic plastic, which is easy to form and is widely used. I. Chemical properties of pvc
1 pvc is a non-toxic, non-odious white powder。
2. Chemical stability is high and has good plasticity. With the exception of a few organic solvents, any concentrations of hydrochloric acid, less than 90 per cent of sulphuric acid, 50 per cent to 60 per cent of nitrate and less than 20 per cent of saline are fairly stable for salts
3. Thermal stability and light tolerance of the pvc are poor, and the discomposition and release of hydrogen chloride (hcl) gases can begin at more than 140°c, leading to pvc discoloration. Polyvinyl chloride (pvc) is only 1/357 for steel and 1/1250 for aluminium。
4. The electrical insulation is excellent, generally unburnable, and can burn and release hcl on the flame, but leaving the flame is self-suspensing, a “suspensive” and inflammable” substance。
Ii. Use of pvc
The pvc is extremely useful and has such characteristics as good processing performance, low manufacturing costs, corruption resistance and good insulation。
The processes most commonly used in pvc products are crowding out and retrofitting. With the development of the aids used in the pvc, the performance of the pvc is increasing and the area of use of the pvc is gradually expanding。
