Home-grown mushrooms may be infected with mushroom lungs。

The mushroom lung, also known as the mushroom worker's mushroom spores, etc., is an external allergy of pneumonia caused by prolonged inhalation of mushroom spores. There is a real risk of infection with mushroom lungs in the course of family mushroom cultivation if it is poorly protected。

When growing mushrooms at home, mushrooms release large amounts of spores into the air. These spores are very small and can be suspended in the air for long periods of time and as they breathe into the respiratory tract. The mushroom lung may be triggered when the number of spores inhaled reaches a certain level and the human immune system reacts to them in an abnormal manner。
When infected with mushroom lungs, patients may experience a range of symptoms, such as cough, cough, breathing difficulties, heat, lack of energy, and even irreversible lung damage, such as lung fibrosis. The risk of infection is likely to be higher, especially for those who themselves have respiratory diseases, allergies or low immunity。

In order to reduce the risk of infection with mushroom lungs, appropriate protective measures should be taken when growing mushrooms at home. For example, maintenance of environmentally well ventilated conditions reduces the accumulation of spores in the air; wear of suitable masks, such as those capable of filtering small particles, to prevent the inhalation of spores; timely cleaning of the face and hand after exposure to mushrooms or related operations to avoid spasm residues; and regular cleaning and disinfection of areas under cultivation to reduce the growth of spores. If the symptoms are associated with mushroom cultivation, they should be examined and diagnosed in a timely manner for early detection and treatment. At the same time, doctors are properly informed about family mushrooms so that they can make accurate judgements and treatment programmes. Family mushrooms cannot be grown lightly and care must be taken to protect against diseases such as mushroom lungs。
