On the occasion of the centennial celebration of beijing and medical college, the beijing association and medical school library, one of the “accompanied peace” schools, had a centennial birthday. From 28 to 30 september, the forum on innovative development of knowledge services in the medical library, organized by the institute of medical information of the chinese academy of medical sciences, the beijing association of medical sciences and the library of the medical school, was held at the concord hall, and the vice-chancellor of my school, mr. Lee jie-ki, director of the library of huang ahing, attended the celebration and academic forum in beijing。
The forum, with the theme “current heritage, innovative development”, invited eminent experts from the library community at home and abroad to make thematic presentations on the potential impact of subversive digital technologies on the medical library, the vision of future developments in the space of the medical library, users, collections and staff capacity, how to respond to trends in medical research, education and medical developments and reflections on new roles and functions of the post-digital medical library, recent developments in data-intensive knowledge-service systems, the metadata strategy of the library in a digital environment, the relationship between the medical library and the medical humanities, and the discussions and exchanges of nearly 300 expert scholars and industry colleagues around “cultural heritage”, “resource innovation” and “service innovation”。
The director of the institute of medical information of the chinese academy of medical sciences and director of the library of the beijing academy of medical sciences, ji hui, made a report entitled “development and perspective of the library of the academy of medical sciences” and launched an initiative to create a coalition of innovative services for the national medical library. Participation in the forum will be an important catalyst for our school to join the innovation services alliance of the medical library in the country, to promote the upgrading of library knowledge services and to promote their innovative development。
