On the opening day of the sixty-sixth session of the general assembly of the states members of the world intellectual property organization (wipo), xinhua, geneva, 9 july, was opened at noon at wipo headquarters in geneva, switzerland, on 8 p. On the theme “protecting innovation and building the future together — copyright in china”, co-organized by the state copyright authority of china, the permanent mission of china in geneva and the world intellectual property organization. More than 1,000 representatives of states members of the world intellectual property organization and observers attended the opening session。
The exhibition, divided into four sections, on international cooperation, the legal system, copyright protection, industrial empowerment, presented a comprehensive picture of china's copyright industry's development history and international cooperation in the form of videos, physical displays, interactive experiences, cases and performances, as well as the important role of copyright in encouraging innovation for economic and social development. It reflected china's practical and dynamic engagement in global intellectual property governance and promoting the flourishing of copyright。
The opening ceremony was attended by the director-general of the world intellectual property organization, deng hun sen, who made a statement. He said that the creation of ancient chinese inventions had left the world a valuable legacy. Today, china's copyright industry was flourishing, helping to develop its economy and securing jobs, particularly through digital transformation. China's creative products, such as games, films and tides, were overwhelming both inside and outside the country. The exhibition brought together the positive climate that inspires innovation and creativity in china, as well as its deep roots in artistic creativity, and highlighted the important value of promoting the continued prosperity of the copyright and creative industries。
In his address, the head of the state copyright authority of china stated that china attached great importance to copyright work and strongly supported the development of copyright. Especially in recent years, china's intellectual property rights work, including copyright, has become more prominent, its copyright legal system has become more complete, its copyright governance system has improved, copyright protection has improved markedly, the copyright industry has developed rapidly, copyright awareness has increased significantly across all sectors of society, and the innovation of copyright has gained unprecedented dynamism. China has always been committed to international cooperation on copyright, deepening its mechanisms for dialogue and cooperation with international organizations, such as the world intellectual property organization, and with countries and regions with bilateral agreements. China has continuously expanded its cooperation on copyright with the countries concerned and has actively promoted the establishment of a balanced and effective international copyright system so that innovation can be created for the better benefit of all peoples。
At the opening ceremony, the report of the national copyright authority of china, in cooperation with the world intellectual property organization (wipo), " ip and the creative industry - the story of the town of cinde " , was officially published.
