In recent days, the fifteenth beijing festival of scientific and technological demonstrations of vegetable varieties was launched, with 2208 new varieties of vegetables in collective appearances, combined with five new types of cultivation and nine core planting techniques, and an extraordinary “vegetation parade”. Today, the market is rich in vegetables and the population's dietary needs are constantly rising, and people are no longer seeking to be full of stomachs, with a greater emphasis on taste, nutrition and appearance, and with a variety of specialties such as nymphorus. In recent years, the team of soldiers from the beijing academy of agroforestry and forestry has produced hundreds of new varieties of cabbage, rich and diverse. There are free cabbages that can be harvested only 20 days after planting to meet the rapid demand of the population; purple cabbage, rich in nymphorus, which breaks the general perception of cabbage as “one colour and green”, taking into account the colour and nutrition; and special varieties that are resistant to smoking, heat and disease, suitable for different seasons and regions。
The exhibit also featured special vegetable seedlings, displaying 83 rare wild and local raw vegetables. The old “old tastes” that are familiar to the old generation, such as winter foods, artemisinins, pickles, horse teeth, pasta, etc., return to public view. These vegetables, which have been reduced from the market because of low yields and the difficulty of growing them, are now being recultivated by the technology of the seed industry, which enriches the choice of vegetables and retains the taste of old age on the tip of the tongue。
