Empty cabbage is widely grown in various parts of the country for the main green leaves in the summer and autumn. Vacant vegetables are hot and wet, are heat-resistant, are not ice-resistant, die in the event of frost, and grow at temperatures ranging from 25 to 30°c, with growth at 10°c stagnating, so that, in winter, anti-season cultivation should be carried out using plastic sheds。

1. Choice of varieties
Suitable varieties include chicken, bone, sword leaf, silk, chicken, etc。
2. Cultivation season
In order to achieve high economic benefits, the production and supply of large-scale production can be achieved largely on an annual basis, with planting scheduled for the months of october to december and for the following march。
3. Fertilizing the whole area
Vacant vegetables grow fast, have a strong branch capacity, require more water and use base fattening when growing, usually with curing organic fats of 1,500 to 2,000 kg and grass-wood ash of 100 kg per acre, which are sufficiently smouldered with soil to form 20 centimetres high and 130 to 150 centimetres wide (gaps)。
4. Leaching seedlings
The skin of an empty cabbage seed is thick and hard, and if the direct seeding takes place slowly because of the low temperature, and if it occurs in prolonged cold and rainy weather, it causes the seed to rot. It is therefore desirable to sow the seed, so that it can be impregnated for 18 to 20 hours with warm water of around 30°c and then impregnated at 30°c with a gauze, which can be sowed when 50 to 60% of the seed is white。
Seeding
Empty cabbage can be soaked or broadcasted with 15 to 20 kg of seed per acre, covered by fine soil around 1 cm thick, and can be soaked with a shallow ditch of 2 to 3 cm deep every 15 centimetres across the face of the scavenger, so that the seeds can be spread evenly in the ditches, covered with fine soil, then covered with sunnets, showered with water, and exposed to the sunnets after seeding。
6. Collection
After a general planting period of 35 to 45 days, the harvest should be timely when the hollow cabbage plant grows 35 cm high。
