This year, 12 may, the fifteenth national day for disaster prevention and mitigation, and 6-12 may, the week of advocacy for disaster prevention and mitigation, the office of the municipal disaster reduction committee, in close focus on the theme of disaster risk prevention, protection for quality development, in-depth organization of basic disaster risk prevention knowledge and disaster response skills training for business, rural, community, school and family, to further enhance public awareness and capacity for emergency avoidance。
On 11 may, the joint city earthquake bureau of the office of the municipal disaster reduction committee first entered the four-quarter town primary school in the high new district to conduct a general knowledge session on earthquake mitigation and an earthquake emergency evacuation exercise。
In four areas: earthquake basics, earthquake hazards, pre-earthquake preparedness, and post-earthquake risk avoidance and rescue, the volunteers vividly demonstrated the magnitude of the human catastrophe caused by the earthquake, using a large number of real pictures, animations, videos on earthquakes and secondary disasters, giving teachers and students an intuitive overview of what they were doing. The presentations were followed by interactive exchanges among volunteers on issues of concern to students. Students have also shown a great deal of interest in this knowledge, and have actively interacted and enjoyed a warm atmosphere and great benefit。
As the signalman sounded the earthquake alarm, the exercise officially began, the students in the class were quickly prepared for protective measures, leaving the classroom in an orderly manner, led by the teacher, to the school playground for emergency avoidance, and the teachers and students responded quickly, efficiently and in an orderly manner, with good performance。
As a result of the launch of the seismic disaster prevention and reduction section, the school-wide awareness-raising and capacity-building of teachers and students in the area of earthquake mitigation and self-help and rescue in response to emergencies has been effectively enhanced。
