On november 18, the launch of the 10 million volunteer colleges of henan province for the prevention of hiv/aids awareness and the 10th national student aids prevention competition (shinyang) took place at shinyang college. The activities are co-sponsored by the department of disease prevention and control of henan province, the centre for disease prevention and control of henan province, the sinyang city health board, the sinyang city disease prevention and control department, the sinyang city centre for disease prevention and control (shinyang city health monitoring institute), the shinyang college and others. Under the theme of “social co-management, maintenance of positive innovation, ending aids”, the awareness of aids prevention in higher education institutions has been deepened through a variety of forms, such as flag-raising ceremonies, expert interviews, interactive responses, literary exhibitions, etc。
At the site of the event, zhang yi, deputy director of the sinyang city health board and head of the sinyang city disease prevention and control department, general secretary and director-general of the sinyang city centre for disease prevention and control, guo chiu, officially transmitted to volunteers two flags of responsibility and hope for the prevention of hiv/aids, marking the launch of a comprehensive series of awareness-raising activities on hiv/aids at the sinyang district college of higher education. As a follow-up, singyang city colleges will continue to carry out such thematic activities as knowledge-raising, art tours, volunteering and so on, bringing the concept of hiv/aids to every corner of the campus。
“it is not your identity that determines the risk of contracting aids, but personal behaviour.” the expert interviews generated widespread resonance among students. Zhang guolong, director of the institute for the prevention and control of stds of the centre for disease control of henan province, and zhang yanin, deputy medical doctor of the centre for disease prevention and control of henan province, and three specialists from the deputy medical section of the centre for disease control and prevention of sinyang city, read the six core topics of “preventing high-risk sexual behaviour for university students”, “preventing after exposure”. Taking into account the national data on the epidemic among young students, the expert pointed out that unprotected sex is the main route of infection, with more than 80 per cent of those infected in higher education having sex with men. In response to critical issues such as self-help after high-risk behaviour, hiv (hiv) positive response, the expert elaborated on 72 hours of expertise to disrupt drug use, regulate treatment, and guide the science response。
There are awards to respond to the scene to the climax. Six topics, covering knowledge points such as means of communication, high-risk behaviour diagnosis and post-exposure prevention, led to a high level of response from students present. The experts extended each topic to correct cognitive errors and allowed the school children to build “knowledge armour” in their interactions。
At the event, a series of wonderful programmes, such as the dance " tea queue " , the song " our tomorrow " and the chorus of security " , were re-played to integrate hiv prevention into artistic performances and to achieve the promotional effect of "teach for fun". The whole event was crowned with a strong solemn declaration by all of us, both a solemn commitment to young health and a firm determination to end aids。
With more than 20 years of deep cultivation, henan has emerged from an aids-proof path with its chinese character, and the whole chain model of “learning knowledge, philosophies and practices” in the field of higher education has become a solid barrier to youth growth. In the context of the tenth anniversary of the launch of the national university-level competition on hiv/aids, the launch of the shinyang region is both a vivid reminder of the province's “one-play game” to promote hiv/aids prevention in higher education institutions, and a practical exercise to build a healthy young people's line of defence through the convergence of the positive positives. In the future, a series of hiv/aids awareness campaigns, knowledge competitions and voluntary initiatives will be developed in singyang colleges, bringing science to the heart of the concept of hiv/aids, bringing together youth forces into a “aids-free” protective network and protecting the dream-oriented path of every pupil。
